Individual States Prioritized Mobile Healthcare in Rural Health Transformation Program Applications

Washington, D.C. (November 7, 2025) – This week, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin included mobile healthcare in their Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) applications to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), putting people, health and wellbeing first. These states are seizing a historic opportunity to strengthen rural healthcare—addressing critical issues such as citizens’ access to care, health outcomes, and financial stability.

Investments like these will not only improve prevention and chronic disease management but they will also strengthen healthcare systems facing rural healthcare gaps across the country. They are a vital step toward creating a more accessible, equitable, and sustainable healthcare system for all Americans.

The Driving Health Forward campaign applauds these investments and remains committed to scaling mobile health to address access to care issues across the U.S.
